The Open Call of the Italian AI Music Awards closes on 31 January 2027 at 23:59, Italian time. It sounds far away, but between now and then there are the holidays, the end of the year and a January that always runs faster than planned. If you make music with AI and you've been thinking about entering, this is the moment to pick your track and send it.

Why sending early matters

Selection is progressive. We don't wait for the deadline to start listening: we go through submissions as they arrive and publish the selected tracks along the way. Each selected track gets its own card on the Artists page, with a player, the Human × AI indicator and a pin on our map of Italy.

That means timing counts. A track selected in December stays on the site for weeks before the Open Call closes: more listens, more shares, more chances to be noticed by the jury, by the public and by our media partners. A track sent on the last night has the same chance of being selected, but much less time to be heard.

There's also a practical reason. If something is wrong with your submission, like a link that doesn't play or a track that's too long, sending early leaves time to fix it.

We're not looking for the newest track or the most complex one. We're looking for the one that only you could have made.

IAIMA TEAM

What your track needs

  1. One track per person, even if you have more than one artist name
  2. Created or released between January 2026 and January 2027
  3. Maximum length 5:30
  4. With vocals: instrumental tracks aren't eligible this year
  5. Any language and any genre
  6. Sent as a link: Suno, Spotify, SoundCloud or YouTube

Entering is free. You need to be 18 or over and an Italian citizen, even if you live abroad, or a resident in Italy. Any AI tool is allowed, and the rights to your music always stay with you.

What's new since launch

Two things have changed since the Open Call opened. First, the limit is now one track per person, not per artist: if you release music under more than one name or project, choose one track in total. A track by a duo or band counts as the entry of every member, and artists invited to the By Invitation category can't also enter the Open Call under another name.

Second, the home page now shows Human × AI in numbers: how the selected artists made their music, role by role. At the time of writing, lyrics are mostly written by people, while vocals are mostly generated with AI. There's no right answer in those numbers. They simply show how differently this scene works, and your declaration will become part of them.

Before you press send

  1. Open your link in a private browser window and check that it plays without logging in
  2. Write the track title and your artist name exactly as you want them to appear
  3. Add your city, so we can place you on the map
  4. Take a minute for each role in the Human × AI declaration and answer honestly
  5. Use an email address you check: that's where we'll contact you if your track is selected

The form takes a few minutes, and you'll get a confirmation as soon as we receive your track.

What happens after 31 January

When the Open Call closes, up to 48 tracks will have been selected. From those, the jury chooses 8 finalists for the Online Final, where the jury and the public vote together, with the public counting for 15% of the result. The Open Call has its own winner and its own Jury Prize, separate from the By Invitation category.

Until then, the best thing you can do is simple: choose your strongest track, check it twice and send it. See you on the Artists page.
