The Interview
In conversation with Andrea AI Sound Creator
How did you start making music with AI?
I started making music with artificial intelligence thanks to the advice of my mother, Alter Ego MusicLab. While she was creating her tracks with AI, I was working as a music selector in clubs around the Lake Trasimeno area and experimenting with production (having already released a vinyl EP made entirely through smartphone apps). Seeing the potential of this new tool, I decided to combine my background as a selector and mobile producer with AI, giving birth to the project Andrea A.I. Sound Creator.
What does AI do in your creative process — and what stays human?
The human element begins with the idea, the story, and the deeper meaning behind every track I create. I set the artistic direction, write and refine the lyrics, experiment with musical styles, and evaluate every output until I find the one that fits my vision—the track that truly evokes an emotion when I listen to it.
Tell us about "The Clock Stops Running". How was it made?
My track "The Clock Stops Running", stems from the idea of capturing the passage of time through the energy of Drum and Bass, specifically chosen to create a constant sense of movement and a rush against the clock. At the core of the story is an intimate dialogue between the man of today and the child he once was. Drawing on my background as a music selector, I guided the AI using Suno and detailed prompt engineering to merge high-energy rhythms with more reflective tempo shifts. I refined the lyrics and structure until I found the exact version that evoked a genuine emotion. The AI is the tool that brings the concept to life, but the vision, meaning, and soul of the song remain one hundred percent human.

Which tools do you use, and how?
I use Suno to turn my ideas into music, guiding the AI through highly detailed prompting. My work focuses on shaping every single element of a track: I write and refine the lyrics, define the conceptual themes, build the atmospheric soundscapes, and carefully select the musical genres and song structures. Throughout the entire creative process, I make deliberate artistic choices, drawing directly from the musical knowledge and culture I’ve built over the years as a selector and producer. AI is the tool, but it's the artistic vision that gives each project its soul, direction, and impact.
What does it mean to be an Italian artist in the AI music scene?
Being an Italian artist in the AI music scene means standing at the crossroads between a rich musical tradition and cutting-edge technology. To me, artificial intelligence isn't a substitute for human creativity, it's an infinite orchestra directed by a human vision. While AI removes technical barriers and offers unprecedented freedom for sound exploration, the artistic core remains entirely human. It is the creator’s unique sensibility that selects, refines, shapes, and breathes soul into what the machine merely calculates.
What's next for you?
I am continuously pushing forward my projects within the electronic music scene, expanding into a broader and more diverse sonic landscape. I am broadening my reach beyond language boundaries to internationalize both my tracks and sound design, crafting music designed for a global audience. On the performance front, I am bringing my music to life through DJ sets—a path I have already embarked on and aim to scale, creating a direct connection with the crowd on the dancefloor. My goal is to keep demonstrating how technology and artistic vision can shape the future of electronic music, transcending geographical and genre boundaries.
What advice would you give to producers who fear the impact of AI in music?
Don't view AI as a threat, but as a new expressive tool—just as synthesizers or samplers were in the past. Technology doesn't replace artistic identity; it puts it to the test. Those with a clear vision will find AI to be an extraordinary ally in amplifying it.
