The Open Call is the open door of the Italian AI Music Awards. No invitation, no entry fee, no genre boxes: if you make music with artificial intelligence and you're an Italian citizen or live in Italy, you can send us your track. Here is everything you need to know before you do.

Why an Open Call

The By Invitation category brings together 32 artists we have followed and chosen. But a scene also grows from its edges: from people who started making music last year, from small towns, from projects nobody has written about yet. The Open Call exists for them. It isn’t a side door or a lesser category: Open Call tracks are featured on the same Artists page and the same map, and they compete for their own winner and Jury Prize at the Online Final.

Who can enter

TThe Open Call is open to artists aged 18 or over who are Italian citizens or live in Italy, and who create music with AI. If you're Italian and live abroad, you can enter too. Solo artists, duos, bands and projects with a stage name are all welcome. It doesn't matter how long you've been making music or how many followers you have: we listen to the track, not to the numbers around it.

What your track needs

  • One track per person, even if you have more than one artist name. Choose the one that represents you best
  • Created or released between January 2026 and January 2027
  • Maximum length: 5:30
  • With vocals: instrumental tracks aren’t eligible this year
  • Any language and any genre, from techno to jazz, from pop to metal
  • Sent as a link: Suno, Spotify, SoundCloud or YouTube. Suno short links work too

Tell us how it was made

Every submission includes the Human × AI declaration. You tell us who did what across six roles: lyrics, melody, vocals, arrangement, production, and mix and master. There’s no right answer and no ranking of purity. A track written by hand and produced with AI has the same chance as one built almost entirely with AI tools. What matters is that the declaration is honest, because it becomes the Human × AI indicator on your card and helps listeners understand your work. If you’re unsure about a role, ask yourself where the main idea came from and who shaped the final result.

How the selection works

Selection is progressive. We listen to submissions as they arrive and publish the selected tracks along the way, until the Open Call closes on 31 January 2027 at 23:59, Italian time. Up to 48 tracks will be selected. Each one gets a card on the Artists page, with a player, the Human × AI indicator and a pin on our map of Italy. From those 48, the jury chooses 8 finalists for the Online Final. There, the jury and the public vote together, with the public counting for 15% of the result. The Open Call has its own winner and its own Jury Prize, separate from the By Invitation category. Because selection is progressive, sending your track early means more time on the site, more listens and more chances to be noticed.

We’re looking for the tracks that only you could have made, whatever tools you used to make them.

The IAIMA TEAM

Before you press send

  • Test your link: open it in a private browser window and make sure it plays without logging in
  • Check your names: the track title and artist name appear exactly as you write them
  • Add your city, so we can place you on the map
  • Pick your strongest track, not necessarily your newest one
  • Be honest with Human × AI: take a minute to think about each role

Fair play counts too. The Awards follow a code of conduct: rigged votes, personal attacks or false information lead to exclusion, at any stage. You’ll find the details in the FAQ.
