The Interview
I started creating music with artificial intelligence out of a passion for music, technology and experimentation. As a software developer, I've always been fascinated by the possibilities new technologies offer. Music has always been a way for me to express emotions and tell stories. When I discovered AI's potential in music production, I realised it could be an extraordinary tool for bringing my ideas to life. I began experimenting with different genres and sounds, combining my own compositions, human creativity and AI tools. That's how The Gargantuas came about: a project with no musical boundaries, where I can explore, experiment and create freely. For me, artificial intelligence doesn't replace the artist; it's a new musical instrument. Technology offers possibilities, but human emotions, ideas and sensitivity are what give music its soul.
In my creative process, artificial intelligence is a tool, not the author. The human contribution includes composing the music, writing the lyrics, and creating melodies, harmonies and arrangements. Every track starts with an idea, an emotion or a story I want to tell. AI comes in during production, helping me develop sounds, interpret arrangements and explore new musical possibilities, starting from my original recordings. My work continues after generation: I refine the structure, timing, mix and mastering, correcting imperfections and bringing out the best in each instrument. The emotions, artistic choices and musical direction remain entirely human. Artificial intelligence expands creative possibilities, but doesn't replace the composer's sensitivity. For me, AI is simply a new musical instrument, just like a guitar, a synthesiser or a DAW.
I'm Alive (Special Version) began as an original, handwritten composition for guitar and vocals. I recorded a stripped-back version, with just enough arrangement for Suno to understand not only the melody and harmony, but also how the instruments should interact. I created an initial mix of the original track in GarageBand, then imported it into Suno and reworked it using the Remix feature, with a lyrics and prompt structure I've refined over years of experimentation. Once I had the version I wanted, I exported both the full track and the individual stems. I then carried out multitrack mastering, working on each instrument individually to preserve the fullness and energy of the original production, while improving the definition, depth and stereo space of the less prominent elements. The result is a balance between human composition, artificial intelligence and traditional music production.
“Human first. AI amplified”
I mainly use GarageBand, Suno and MLSM Studio, integrating them into a creative process that combines traditional composition with artificial intelligence. GarageBand is my starting point: I compose, record vocals and instruments, create arrangements and prepare the initial mix of the original track. Suno lets me develop the composition further through its Remix feature, starting from my own audio and using structured lyrics and prompts refined over the years. MLSM Studio is my dedicated post-production software, which I use to quantise the track, correct timing and reduce some generative artefacts. Finally, I return to GarageBand to work on the individual stems, refine the mix and carry out multitrack mastering, preserving the composition's original character.
Being an Italian artist in the AI music scene means bringing a tradition rooted in melody, emotion and artistic sensitivity into a new technological revolution. Italy has an extraordinary musical culture, where composition and storytelling through music have always played a fundamental role. With The Gargantuas, I try to combine this heritage with experimentation, showing that tradition and innovation can coexist. I believe the biggest challenge is overcoming prejudice against AI-generated music by helping people understand how much human work can go into a production. I don't want my music to be judged simply by the tools used, but by the emotions it conveys. For me, being an Italian artist in the AI era means respecting music's roots without being afraid to explore its future.
The future of The Gargantuas will focus on creating new AI artists, each with their own musical identity, to explore different genres and experiment with new sounds without creative limits. I want to keep developing music, but also platforms, websites and apps that let people share their AI creations, discover new artists and get their music heard. As a programmer too, I find it extraordinary how AI is breaking down barriers between different fields. I believe AI's real added value lies in the opportunity to explore areas that once required skills, resources and investment available to only a few. Today, creating music, developing apps and building websites have become much more accessible. My goal is to build a creative ecosystem where music and technology meet, giving everyone more opportunities to express their ideas and bring them to life.
